“Here, the young people operate the old machines, and the old operate the new machines,” said Ee Soon Wei, with a deadpan expression that hid his amusement.

It is true. In his KL-based family business, Art Printing Works, loyal old staff run the modern machinery that prints school textbooks and other materials while the young are designers who collaborate with the company to come up with new designs and products. To create the old-new effects that are all in the rage today, they use the oldest of the machinery.

And this fascinating scenario neatly sums up what the company is trying to become.
