As islands go, Pangkor is tiny, but that hasn't stopped it from organising its own arts festival – Pangkor Island Festival is in fact in its second year. There seems to be a trend here. Even Pulau Ketam, Kluang and Bario have their own annual art attraction now.

As a holiday destination, Pangkor Island isn’t as well-known as Malaysia’s other islands in the north and east. And as a heritage and cultural site, even less is known about this island despite all the resorts and fishing villages found around it off the coast of Perak.
But it does have one thing: its own arts festival. In September, it hosted the second Pangkor Island Festival, combining entertainment with the arts.
