THE NOVEL CORONAVIRUS that causes Covid-19 has been going about its deadly business for six months now. To date (July 10, 2020), 12,414,853 people have officially been infected by it, and since the first week of May, the seven-day moving average for deaths per day globally has been around 4,700. All inhabited continents are affected, and at last count, 215 countries have had cases, with 157 of them having had more than 10 deaths so far.
